Aylesbury Vale – online crime survey

Message sent by
Diane Brown (Police, NHW & Community Messaging Co-ordinator, Aylesbury Vale LPA)

This is a reminder that until Monday 23rd December 2013, the Aylesbury Vale Community Safety Partnership (this bringing together a number of key agencies including the police and local councils to tackle problems affecting community safety in the district) will be conducting an on-line crime survey in Aylesbury Vale.

The partnership is preparing its next three year strategy (2014-17) and is keen to hear whether people think that new priorities that have been identified are correct and what types of crime it should focus attention on.

During the past 3 years, the partnership helped to achieve a 21% reduction in overall crime in the Vale.

If you have not yet completed it please click to take part in the survey – this will take you to a short questionnaire taking about 5 minutes to complete.

The new Community Safety Strategy will be published on the AVDC website in April 2014.

Stowe House Festive Winter’s Evening

As the morning air becomes crisp and the trees turn a hundred wonderful shades of orange, our thoughts turn towards Christmas. At Stowe House they are readying themselves for their next fabulous event; after two sell out years the annual Festive Winter’s Evening concert returns its third year. Continuing to nurture both established and new local musicians the Brackley Chamber Music Club have developed a joyful evening of delightful entertainment. Interspersed with entertaining festive readings, voiced by Meriel Dickinson, this occasion will give you a taste of traditional county house festivities and give you chance to indulge in sumptuous surroundings. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine in one of the most spectacular rooms in the county and treat yourself to a mince pie or two, (or three!) whilst taking advantage of the chance to view this spectacular stately home in the early evening.

Early pre-booking is essential, please see www.stowehouse.org for more information or telephone 01280 818002 to book tickets.

Superfast Broadband for Akeley

As some of you will remember we posted an article in August 2012 about the Superfast Broadband in your local community.

There is a meeting on Wednesday 13th November at 8pm to find out how little you need to do to help us help you and your neighbours onto the digital highway. You can do something about it today by registering at www.superfastforbucks.org and backing your local campaign to bring superfast broadband to our villages.
